Haría is situated in the far north of Lanzarote, next to the municipality of Teguise lying above if you drew a line across from El Charco del Palo to the beach of Famara. At that time, there was a lot of piracy with numerous attacks. One of the most famous was in 1618 when the inhabitants of Teguise were forced to hide in the Cueva de los Verdes (Green Cave).
Due to the climatic conditions, agriculture is the main economic activity of the municipality. Culturally, it is worth mentioning the architecture of the area, especially Haría Square. The Sacro Popular Museum contains beautiful religious objects and images. In the park Volcán de la Corona, you can see Corona Mountain and its extensive malpais or lava beds. Other places of natural interest are La Cueva de los Verdes (Green Cave) and Los Jameos del Aqua. From the cliffs of Famara you can observe one of the largest botanical reserves in the archipelagor.
The main festivals in the municipality take place in June, starting with San Juan and ending with the Cristo de la sed festival on the 1st of July.
