The César Manrique Foundation opened its doors in 1982 with the aim to keep the philosophy and spirit of the artist from Lanzarote alive, although the official opening wasn't until 1992. It is a private foundation which is financed by the differnt activities it holds.

The headquarters are situated in what was the artist's house. The house was built on a lava bed which can be observed from the windows as if you were watching a living painting. Nowadays, it is a museum where we can appreciate the artist's work of art. In the lava gallaries, different exhibitions are held as well as conferences and courses.

A visit to the house is an unforgetable experience. Its fantasy architecture  shows the capacity of Manrique who knew how to blend modern art with traditional architecture of Lanzarote, transforming every corner into something special.

Summer timetable ( July 1st to 31st October) : Everyday from 10.00 – 19.00 – bank holidays included
Winter timetable ( November 1st to 30th June ) : From Monday to Saturday 10.00 – 18.00. Sundays from 10.00 to 15.00
